About Colbert County Criminal History

Colbert County records are split among the sheriff, the Circuit and District Courts, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the state corrections system, and the Alabama Sex Offender Registry. We built this private reference site to make that records map easier to follow and to route readers to official portals, counters, and phone lines.

Why We Built This Site

Finding the custodian is often harder than finding a search box. The Colbert County sheriff creates booking and custody material, while the Circuit Clerk keeps filed charges, docket events, and dispositions. ALEA's Criminal Justice Information Services Division maintains fingerprint-linked Alabama criminal history. ADOC and the Alabama Sex Offender Registry cover different state records. We organize the documented request steps, fees, contacts, and official search routes without treating those separate records as interchangeable.

What You Will Find Here

  • Record guides: ways to search and read Colbert County criminal court cases
  • Official review steps: the fingerprint-based self-review process through ALEA
  • Agency contacts: the local and state offices that hold each kind of Colbert County record
  • Record relief: the Alabama expungement route and the court where a qualifying petition begins

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site, independent of every Alabama court, police department, sheriff, and state agency. That leaves clear limits on our role:

  • No official check or personal criminal record can be produced here
  • Certified rap sheets and court papers must come from their custodians
  • We cannot submit a request, expungement petition, or other filing for a visitor
  • Specific charges and cases require legal advice that we do not provide
  • Agency contacts, fees, and hours should be confirmed before reliance

Only the issuing sheriff, court, or ALEA Criminal Justice Information Services Division can supply its official record. We can identify the office, but the record must come from its custodian.

Search Partners

Outside providers power some search boxes. They control their services, results, and prices. We may receive a referral payment when a visitor follows one of those tools to a paid service, which helps support free access to our reference material. We do not set partner charges or decide what their searches return.
