Terms of Use

These conditions govern every visit, search, and use of content on Colbert County Criminal History. Using the site means accepting them. Anyone who does not agree should stop using it.

NO FCRA USE. This privately run site has no government affiliation. Neither it nor its advertising partners provides a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The site only helps readers locate Colbert County and Alabama record sources. It is not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site operates independently from government. It neither stores official criminal records nor retrieves records, performs official checks, or files documents.

Its role is to identify Colbert County custodians, including the sheriff, criminal courts, ALEA Criminal Justice Information Services Division, and Alabama Sex Offender Registry, while also linking to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

  • Use the site in violation of local, state, or federal law
  • Threaten, stalk, or harass another person with information found here
  • Apply site content to lending, insurance, housing, or employment decisions
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any account, server, or system
  • Deploy scrapers, bots, or similar automated access tools
  • Interfere with service speed, availability, or another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No one may use site content or linked results to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate. Alabama law, including Ala. Code ยง15-20A-42, restricts misuse of Alabama Sex Offender Registry information and may impose criminal penalties. Registry access supports public safety awareness, never vigilantism or prohibited discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. We do not generate background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports of any kind. Neither we nor our advertising partners provide services built for screening job applicants, reviewing rental applications, calculating insurance rates, or judging creditworthiness. You agree not to use data from this site or any linked tool to:

  • Make an employment decision
  • Evaluate a rental or housing application
  • Assess credit or insurance eligibility and price
  • Decide access to a license, permit, or government benefit
  • Carry out any other action governed by the FCRA

Any regulated background check must come from an authorized official channel or an FCRA-compliant screening provider.

5. No Legal Advice

Nothing here is legal advice. General Colbert County records information cannot determine how a charge, warrant, conviction, or expungement law applies to one case. Seek a licensed Alabama attorney for that analysis.

6. No Warranties

Everything on this site is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that:

  • Partner results will be complete, current, or correctly matched
  • Content will always be accurate and up to date
  • Pages will operate without bugs or security flaws
  • Service will remain uninterrupted or continuously available

Charges, dispositions, access limits, and expungement status can change. Gaps are possible, and no site content is an official statement from a sheriff, court, or Alabama agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to independent sheriff, court, state, legal-resource, and search-service sites. We do not control their availability, prices, data practices, or content. Review their own terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Colbert County Criminal History or its content partners. Copying, adapting, or distributing them requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest lawful extent, we are not liable for damages arising from use of the site, its information, or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims caused by your site use or breach of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Alabama law governs these terms. Any dispute connected with site use must be brought in a court located in Alabama.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. A revision becomes effective when posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or terminated at any time and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all others remain in force. The affected term is adjusted only as far as needed.

15. Questions
